Hi, I'm Jane, a Person-Centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist.
I have nearly 40 years of clinical experience, which grounds my deeply human therapeutic approach.
I offer clients time and focus in a gentle, empathetic way, fostering meaningful connection whilst you work through your personal growth. It's your journey, not mine—I am here to support, not direct or guide.
As a person, I have sat in your shoes. Being a client was my first step toward sitting where I am today, so I understand how this early exploration feels. It can be frightening and confusing, and that’s alright—it’s a beginning.
Even today, I receive regular professional support including supervision to help me continue growing both within my practice and as a person.
Who am I as a human being? I am an avid reader, walker, and wanderer—equally at home in nature and the inner city, immersing myself in the outdoors. I am endlessly curious about life, people, places, and things.
“Be not afraid of going slowly, be afraid only of standing still.”
My Experience & Qualifications
I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Person-Centred Therapy from Persona Development & Training, one of the UK’s leading Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy Training Schools.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their code of Professional ethics. What you share in therapy is treated with respect and confidentiality, within the ethical boundaries of counselling. At our first fill session I will explain confidentiality, its limits, and how I work with your information so that you know what to expect. You are at the centre of this experience, and your emotional safety is the guide.
I believe therapy can be as effective in-person, via telephone or online. I have experience in all as a client and a therapist. The method is whichever works best for you to feel safe enough to show up.
My areas of interest include loss, grief and bereavement; relationships and patterns of relating. I have worked extensively with alcohol, addiction and recovery; belonging, identity and our sense of place. Though whatever brings you to therapy, we can start with what feels important to you.
I believe that you are the expert on your own life. My role is not to tell you what to do or to give you advice, but to offer a safe, confidential and accepting space where you can explore what is happening for you, at your own pace.
